Just a year ago, he was a popular college senior, getting good grades, hanging out and playing sports.

Ready to Work Grant Awarded to Ann Arundel Workforce Development Corporation Bid

The Starfish Group is part of a collaborative team awarded grant from The U.S. Department of Labor to place job- seekers in IT and biotechnology fields. The program will include a two-week boot camp to refresh the job-seekers' skills and include internship and apprentice programs targeted for older workers.

RX for EMPLOYABILITY: Funded by EARN MARYLAND, Dept of Labor and Licensing 

A workforce training initiative funding by the Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation's EARM MARYLAND program, Rx for Employability is a demonstration project leveraging multiple sectors and resources in Montgomery County to create a sustainable and replicable career pathways.

County and State funds will support entry level and incumbent level programs in the health and wellness fields including: sterilization technicians, pharmacy technicians, and medical coders. Over two years, Rx for Employability aims to facilitate approximately 210 individuals on a career pathway.
